There it is; a new Interdimensional Bureaucracy before Unforeseen Consequences continues. I tried a few new things with the editing on this comic; not sure what works and what doesn’t. Any feedback much appreciated, just don’t be too mean.
This is indeed a Halloween Special so the fact it’s in b&w and has a different sort of vibe to it than regular episodes of IB is only because of that. As our dear Employer friend said; things will go back to ‘normal’ whenever I make the next issue.
Still… it’s canon to the Interdimensional Bureaucracy lore, so paying attention to some things that have been mentioned in this is still useful for both the universe of UC and IB.
I have much planned for both series in the future; I’ve barely scratched the surface of my head-canon here.
LORE:
Duskthulu is not her real name, sorry.
Yes G-Man is making a heart-shape with his shadow tendrils; he can be a total simp for his wife when none of his employees are around. (Only IB, not UC.)
It is indeed standard protocol for brainwashed mortal cults to be ‘removed’ nowadays. It’s just really not useful for business.
Dusk is a cosmic horror with a bit of a identity crisis right now.
G-Man actually calling himself G-Man is not common; his designation is Agent G. ‘G-Man’ is something humans refer to him by, he has somewhat embraced it though.
Barney has returned!
BEHIND THE SCENES:
Twilight Zone intro was just a random afterthought.
I know Rod Serling never actually said ‘imagine, if you will…’ but it’s a classic Mandela effect.
Unfortunately the briefcase monster is not a full dupe.
There was originally going to be a shot after G-Man says he spared the sacrifice guy of the dude saying something along the lines of ‘I have seen such sights!’ Was sort of meant to be a reference to Hellraiser, but it was cut for comic-pacing.
Yeah this has some meta jokes in it; you’ll only see this stuff in IB, never UC.
You know, you keep saying that you’re not good compared to the others, but the pages tell a different story. Flows like wine, visually “tastes” just as fine. It starts strong, it gives you a reason to keep reading, and it shoots for the sky. Tell your anxiety to go fuck itself.
BWUAHAHAHHA that was a wild ride! ‘The G Zone’ does sound terrible, loved all the little jokes worked in,
espeicially the “and in color!” bit towards the end XD
Thank you! I think it was easier for me to try new stuff with IB rather than UC, UC is very set with it’s layout and I didn’t really want to deviate too much from it when making that. This though I can try different shit haha.
This is my first introduction to your work, and I’d say it has a specific unique flavor of strangeness. Maybe not as flavorful as the brain eating scene or the cannibalism (does that count if the G-Man is an alien?) bit. But the strangeness hooked me into continuing to scroll down to see what other fun bits you would come up with. And to be honest, I was not expecting a giant briefcase monster akin to Ailoth from the MCU show Loki (or Deadpool & Wolverine).
Thank you! I haven’t been gmod comic making for very long (started last year); before that I did make machinima with gmod though and also drawn comics. If you ever want to read the older issues of this series or my other (serious) series you can find them listed here: Comic Lists - #8 by DuskGovernmentWoman
And no it’s not cannibalism because they’re not human. XD I have a lot of lore for my Half-Life universe, I posted some of it here: Lore Thread: The Bureau
And this is a thread for the general use of my perskin when other folks want to use Dusk in their comics: Personal Skin Guidelines
Though I do need to update a bunch of stuff actually, as I’m always expanding on the lore.
