The Government Intern, née Lara Chesterfield throughout the different timelines, is a very peculiar spatial anomaly. In several locations and several different worlds, government agents keep reporting her unchanging presence, doing whatever job fits her current situation. In one timeline she’s an ill soldier fighting for City 8, but in another timeline she’s a dutiful Sister of Battle under the Adeptus Ministorum. It is unclear when she really started existing, which further makes it impossible to tell if there’s a single original Lara from which the others came from. Inevitably, one agent who ran into Lara was the Government Doctor, and while he was at first perplexed by the nature of this encounter, he ended up enjoying her presence far more than he initially assumed. Choosing to stay in touch with this anomaly, the Doctor gradually warmed up to Lara, to the point where he willingly chose to adopt her as his silly anomalous daughter, and perhaps as an assistant for his work as an agent. After moving her to his castle, she received a suit matching her father’s and a copy of his metallic beak to make her stand out from the other Laras. So far, there have been no secondary iterations of Government Intern Lara, thus demonstrating that she cannot exist as a natural government agent.

While many of Lara’s iterations seem to have a fundamental template to build off of, what is more interesting about her is the fact that she shows an abnormal level of skill to whatever her iteration’s current occupation may be: as a soldier, Lara has a very long track record of battles she won and lives she claimed. As a Sister of Battle, she has successfully repelled a xeno invasion as the only “super-soldier” stationed on the invaded planet. The Government Intern however has shown a bit of psychic ability after spending some time training and meditating with her foster father, thus proving that perhaps this iteration of Lara might be the only one with government agent-related abilities despite being born as a common human.

GENERAL TRIVIA

  • Lara sports a Janner accent throughout her endless iterations, though depending on the timeline her vocabulary may be more or less refined and/or regional.
  • Unlike her foster father Lara likes meat-based foods, well done.
  • She’s a very talkative social butterly. Sometimes she gets lost in her train of thoughts and keeps talking over and over. However, her father doesn’t mind listening to her when she does get metaphorically lost.
  • She likes to eat the burnt portions of a cooked steak.
  • The Government Intern was born to a high middle class family selling suits. When the time came for Lara to dress up like her father she designed the suit with him, much to the Doctor’s delight.
  • All iterations of Lara are gifted with an always-increasing degree of universal skill. As a soldier she will eventually become a killing machine, as a doctor she will eventually become a flawless savior, et cetera. Following this logic, the Government Intern will inevitably become the strongest agent in existence at some point.
  • As her name would imply she’s not an agent, but she’s the Doctor’s assistant to learn the ropes of her father’s important job.

Interesting character setup,
had no idea there were sisters of battle models even out there.
